Love this park and it's swimming area. Great for a short walk in any season!
I hear you can camp here too.
We enjoyed our two day camping stay. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The hiking trails are beautiful and well maintained. Anytime we can explore a park built by the CCC so long ago is an honor. We will be back.
A fine place. Good service. The Park manager has good progressive ideas hopefully they will make it work. There are 2 loops. I did not enjoy the bottom loop with my tent. No flush toilets or showers only put toilets. Little privacy a bit difficult to access. Non campers come here to hike. Beware the little lake to swim is Cold mountain water
Really cute & normally quiet Campground. We love the spacious sites with plenty of trees. Great for Adults not so much for kids though as there isn't many attractions. Most recent stay was .. um interesting ! Waking up to heavy machinery & falling trees behind our site scared the daylights out of me. Should probably warn guests about this activity. Also the price is wonderful :)
Very pretty but sites are placed too close. Neighbors up in your business and loud kids/banjo pickers. After 4 state parks with 50 cent showers for 5 minutes, the 25 cents a minute showers seemed pricey. They were hot though! Very close to the rail trail which was perfect for running!
No complaints - spent a quiet night here before I had an early morning hike in the presidentials. Even though the campground was pretty full it got very quiet as soon as it got dark. Cant say I checked out much in the way of facilities but it worked for me.
Great park. Many trails to hike or ride. Fairly well marked. Many camping areas with a nice swimming area. It has a nice beach. I didn't personally swim today because it was 67 degrees but it looked nice. I took a hike in the scenic loop. A little rough with rocks and roots but doable.
This is a great little no-frills state park campground. It is right outside of Gorham, and close to Mount Washington and the Presidential Range. The camp sites are very secluded with tons of space between them. I've stayed here three times now; twice on my motorcycle in a tent and once in a tow-behind RV, and will surely stay here again. If you're looking for an RV park with full hook-ups and a ton of amenities, this is not the place. If you like secluded camping with a 1930s park feel, this is it.
Most sites are very spacious for larger RVs. However, backing in larger rigs is difficult in many sites due to the trees and twisty tight campground road. We stayed at site 9, which was one of the better, more secluded sites in the campground. We have a small 27 foot tow-behind trailer RV, and the site was plenty big enough to accept this plus some, but backing it in was quite difficult, and was approaching the maximum size for this site due to trees along the road.
There is a small camp store/ranger station, a few hiking trails, a creek, two ponds (one of which is called a pool, but it is a pond that can be swam in), a small playground, which was really just a slide, and a nice clean bath house.
If you're headed up this way, definitely stay at Moose Brook!
